Domestic indie gem Lake Jons will be celebrating their new album on the 9th of September at Ritz!
The style-conscious Helsinki band Lake Jons, known for their captivating modern indie-folk, released their third album Running third on Friday 26.5 and will celebrate it with a tour in the fall. The band, which from the very beginning has been making dreampop with international folkitronica undertones, takes its listeners on a journey to the woods and dark waters with their latest album. In addition to being close to nature, the album also strongly exudes urban life, both in Helsinki and in New York.
– Even though it’s been five years since our last album, our passion for making music hasn’t waned at any point. We are constantly making new songs and now that life has started up again outside of home, it felt like a good decision to record a new album and release it. When we started making the record, it felt like we had removed the plug from a full pool of water, which was perhaps already a bit moldy, or rather fermented just right. We also wanted to capture that fermented warmth, Mikko Pennanen and Jooel Jons tell Running Third about the new album.
Tickets 12€ / 10€ Ritz & Volume members and students
