The poor soldier Ludvig Kahlen (Mads Mikkelsen) arrives in 1755 in the barren Jutland Sheden with one goal: to follow the king’s call to farm the land and thereby gain wealth and glory. But Kahlen quickly makes an enemy. The merciless landowner Frederik De Schinkel, who is sole ruler of the area. De Schinkel believes that the heath belongs to him and not to the king.

Kahlen does not back down but stubbornly takes up the unequal battle and now risks both his life, but also the bond with the small troubled family that has arisen around him on the moor.

During Kino nights Ritz doors open circa 20 minutes before the first movie.

Tickets are sold in the café where payment by card or cash is accepted. There is no pre-sale or take bookings for film screenings. The tickets are value tickets, and are valid as such to any screening.

Smartum, Tyky or Edenred coupons or cards are not accepted at Ritz, but they can be used to buy tickets at Studio Ticket in shopping centre Rewell.

No wardrobe service or fee during regular Kino nights.

We work continuously to make Ritz more accessible. There is a stair lift from the ground floor, where the toilet is available, to the café and auditorium on the second floor, and there is a induction loop for hearing aids in part of the auditorium. Even so it is a good idea to read up on accessibility before your visit.

Read more about accessibility, and get acquainted with the premises via the virtual tour:
