Marianne Farrere is the richest woman in the world, the fabulously wealthy heiress to a cosmetics empire. Money can buy anything, but it can’t buy love. Fortunately, a cocky upstart, a would-be photographer and fortune-seeker named Pierre-Alain (Laurent Lafitte), sweeps into her world of wealth.

Their encounter sparks a platonic romance. Marianne throws millions at the photographer – after all, having fun is worth it. Her daughter (Marina Fois), aided by lawyers and the butler, tries in vain to drive the suitor away from the heiress’s bank account. The revelry must continue for as long as possible.

This story, which unleashes a tidal wave of hilarious debauchery, is loosely based on the Liliane Bettencourt scandal. Laurent Lafitte was awarded the César for Best Actor for his role. The magnetic lead role seems tailor-made for the divine Isabelle Huppert.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Vaasa local buses, Lifti, drive several lines past Ritz. You can find your way to us with their  route planner. 

Ritz is only 700 meters walking from Vaasa travel centre (trains and long distance buses).

Roadside parking is free after 18:00. The easiest way to find parking is in the main square underground parking Toriparkki, 400 meters walking distance from Ritz.

During Kino nights Ritz doors open circa 20 minutes before the first movie.

Tickets are sold in the café where payment by card or cash is accepted. There is no pre-sale or take bookings for film screenings. The tickets are value tickets, and are valid as such to any screening.

We currently don’t accept payments with Epassi, Smartum, Tyky, Edenred or other employee benefits.

No wardrobe service or fee during regular Kino nights.

We work continuously to make Ritz more accessible. There is a stair lift from the ground floor, where the toilet is available, to the café and auditorium on the second floor, and there is a induction loop for hearing aids in part of the auditorium. Even so it is a good idea to read up on accessibility before your visit.

Our stylish bar is also open before and between screenings. Unfortunately, alcoholic drinks can not be taken into the auditorium during regular Kino nights.
