It is 2006 in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. The country was the last country on Earth to allow the Internet and television, and now the king has decided to abdicate so that his people can find their place in the modern world. But the biggest change is ahead: the transition to democracy. The authorities are holding shadow elections to teach citizens how to vote. The local population, however, for whom Buddhism is a way of life and who value tradition much more than politics, is very skeptical about the need for change.
