In September, Kvevlax’s own Månskensbonden returns to Ritz for an acoustic concert, joined by guitarist Petter Näse, pianist Daniel Ventus, and cellist Emma Strömbäck-Mård.
With songs unearthed from the soil, Månskensbonden sings of brimstone-scented sermons, liberation through music, people falling through the cracks, the guilty conscience of middle-class life, human loneliness, and the attempt to overcome that isolation through love and community.
Månskensbonden’s breakthrough came in 2015 with the single Döpt i Kyro älv, followed by the debut album Vårat Ödeland, which HBL named one of the best albums of 2018. Since then, Månskensbonden has, among other achievements, sold out venues across Finland and Sweden with the performance Österbottnisk afton, written music for Oravais Teater, and released two additional full-length albums. The third album, Svindel och lågtryck, was released in April 2025 and recorded in Umeå featuring members from bands such as Honungsvägen and Vasas Flora och Fauna. Månskensbonden also made a guest appearance on Josefin Sirén’s song Norrsken during the spring, a track that topped the Vegatoppen chart for several weeks.
