The pop kantele artist Ida Elina has made the kantele instrument famous both in Finland and in the world for 10 years and now she will release a new album Capital Letters in the autumn of 2022 and go on a 10th anniversary tour.

Ida Elina commented on the autumn:
– It’s wonderful to tour Finland again after a long break! I especially look forward to meeting people and sharing experiences. See you soon!

A book was published by Ida Elina in the spring of 2022, which is a story about the new rise of the kantele in the 21st century. At the heart of the book is the story of the modern pop kantele and how the phenomenon Ida Elina was born. The book dives into years of despair and bitterness, the search for one’s own self, a fragile dream, a year that has changed my life, and tells how a girl from the small town of Northern Ostrobothnia eventually grew up to be a traveling artist around the world.

Popkanteletar has received the Evento Awards for best performing artist, the Kantele of the Year award, the Christmas Album of the Year award for radio, and she has also won 1st place in professional series of international kantele competitions.

During her ten-year career as an artist, Ida Elina has performed for the Finnish presidential couple Sauli Niinistö and Jenni Haukio, President Tarja Halonen and Dr. Pentti Arajärvi, as well as President Martti Ahtisaari, business leaders, political figures and diplomats in various countries.

Over the years, there have also been performances abroad, e.g. in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong in honor of the 100th anniversary of Finland, at the Beijing Arts 2020 Festival, the Shanghai International Indie Music Season 2020 and the Music by Design Shanghai. In addition, the artist has given concert tours in the United States, Germany and Japan, and has performed extensively in the Nordic and Baltic countries. In addition to her numerous TV appearances, Ida Elina has become familiar to the Finnish public, especially from Linnan Jatkot and Linnan Juhlat.
